VOCES8 performs in Australia

VOCES8,VOCES8 Foundation

VOCES8 makes their second trip to Australia in June 2024, performing across the country giving a variety of performances that includes a number of premieres and collaborations, including workshops and masterclasses.

In Brisbane they perform the Australian premiere of Christopher Tin‘s work for voices and orchestra, The Lost Birds – the piece for which the ensemble was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2023. Barnaby Smith conducts the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, with violinist Jack Liebeck performing The Lark Ascending in a version for orchestra and choir.

In Adelaide, VOCES8 gives workshops at Ukaria and performs with The Adelaide Chamber Singers, The Aurora Vocal Ensemble (performing the world premiere of Taylor Scott Davis‘s ‘Hold Fast to Dreams’) and The Festival Statesmen Chorus.

Perth sees them working with the Voyces Foundation after which VOCES8 performs in Canberra and the iconic Sydney Opera House with Jack Liebeck. To conclude the tour they will work with Moorambilla Voices to create a collaborative performance in Sydney Opera House including new arrangements and a world premiere by Andrew Howes.
