VOCES8 and APOLLO5 both sing at the Three Choirs Festival 2026 in concerts celebrating “magnificent choral works”, with APOLLO5 giving the world premiere of a work by Lucy Walker. With both concerts sold out, extra seating has been released for VOCES8.
They perform at 12:45pm on Saturday 25 July in Gloucester Cathedral, leading its audience through its programme “Lead Me Home”, exploring the choral music of America, and mixed on this occasion with English music from Gloucestershire.
APOLLO5 will give a concert at 11:15am on Wednesday 29 July at St Nicholas Church, presenting “When Music Sounds”, an all-English programme tracing centuries of choral and a cappella music. The concert opens with the Renaissance arches of William Byrd and Thomas Tallis before moving into the twenty-first century through works by contemporary composers including current King’s Singer Piers Connor Kennedy and Lucy Walker. They will be giving the world premiere of “The Road Not Taken”, using the famous text by Robert Frost.
Both ensembles will next be at Milton Abbey for the VOCES8 International Summer Festival 2026, where they will join with the Ringmasters, VOCES8 Scholars Ensemble for a week of music making.
