Under the baton of Artistic Director Darius Lim, VOSCC earned 2nd place for their performances of Lim’s Ave Maria and Children of Light.
The judges commended VOSCC for their ‘very fine singing’, highlighting the ‘drama and energy’ of their ‘very excellent performance’.” This was VOSCC’s first-ever competition, making their 2nd place finish even more remarkable.
The Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir from the USA claimed 1st place in the category, while the Czech Republic’s Kejatān secured 3rd place.
This achievement concluded VOSCC’s inaugural UK tour which began with a solo concert at London’s Sinfonia Smith Square with guest choir Vox Urbane, followed by a visit to Barnsley in the North of England for choir exchanges, combined performances, and masterclasses with Barnsley Youth Choir and their artistic director, Mathew Wright.
