Musica Baltica has announced its latest releases for the upcoming holiday season, including it’s first publications of arranger, composer and tenor in VOCES8, Blake Morgan’s arrangements. Originally a traditional Scandinavian Christmas tune, Mit hjerte alltid vanker/My Heart Forever Wanders, text by Hans Adolph Brorson, has become one of Norway’s most treasured festive songs, celebrated for its warmth, simplicity, and timeless beauty. In his first collaboration with Musica Baltica, Blake has arranged this tune for both SSAATTBB, recorded by VOCES8, and TTTTBBBB ensembles. Adding a new dimension to the work is an elegant and heartfelt English singing translation by former VOCES8 soprano Andrea Haines, allowing choirs around the world to experience the song in both its original language and in English.
Blake joins Podium Music composer Ēriks Ešenvalds at Musica Baltica. Amongst their new releases, his Mit hjerte alltid vanker/My Heart Forever Wanders, sits beside a new setting of Silent Night/Stille Nacht by Ešenvalds.
