APOLLO5 have released their eighth studio album, Crossings, a captivating musical meditation on the ancient Via Francigena – the “road that comes from France”. This millennium-old pilgrimage route stretches from Canterbury to Rome, and the album follows its journey through the modest English cathedral city into the splendour of Rome.
The album seamlessly intertwines early and contemporary composers from English, French and Italian composers; including Thomas Tallis, Orlande de Lassus and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, to Camille Saint-Saëns and Ralph Vaughan William, alongside Piers Connor Kennedy, Francis Pott, Shruthi Rajasekar. Crossings invites listeners to follow not only an imagined physical route, but their own inner journeys of loss, hope and renewal, in their innovative, and fresh voice.

APOLLO5 begin performing Crossings today at Hexham Abbey Festival of Music and Arts, and you can find details of their further concert schedule here.
